The Africa Media Bureau (AMB) is set to convene a high-level conference aimed at reshaping the future of media practice, education and policy in Ghana.
Scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the one-day event—“Media Convergence in Ghana: Rethinking Traditional Media in a Digital-First Era”—will bring together a diverse mix of stakeholders across academia, industry and policy spaces for a forward-looking dialogue on the evolution of the media landscape.
Theme: Where Legacy Meets Technology
Under the theme “Where Legacy Meets Technology: The Future of Media Practice, Education and Policy in Ghana,” the conference will explore the intersection between traditional media platforms and emerging digital technologies.
As Ghana’s media ecosystem undergoes rapid transformation, AMB is positioning this conference as a strategic intervention to examine how convergence is redefining content production, distribution, audience engagement, monetisation and professional training.
Conference Focus
The conference is designed as a thought-leadership and professional exchange platform, bringing together:
Faculties of Media and Communication Studies from tertiary institutions
Media owners, editors and newsroom managers
Broadcast, print and digital journalists

Final-year students preparing to enter the industry
Participants will interrogate the current state of traditional media—radio, television and print—and assess their relevance within a fast-evolving digital ecosystem.
More importantly, the event will move beyond diagnosis to identify practical pathways for collaboration between academia and industry, ensuring that media education remains responsive, skills-driven and future-ready.
